Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

Having grown up on the musical starring Mark Lester and Jack Wild the book had little appeal originally.

Following a mini series on TV that was truer to the book sparked a fresh interest, it depicted a darker side to Olivers plight.

All the main characters in the book were of the same ilk however the book was very good in how the end was a culmination of all the characters influences throughout Olivers life.

How I rate the charcters

• The Artful Dodger A lovable rouge
• Mr Bumble Sly and conniving
• Fagin  A puppet master who was timid around his piers
• Bill Sykes Nasty bit of work
• Nancy A working girl who fell for the wrong bloke
